Duerr’s is proud to be England’s oldest, and arguably the best, family-owned jam maker.

Based in Manchester we’ve been making quality preserves to our family recipes for 140 years.

Duerr’s has been preserving nature since 1881 which means we know what we’re doing! Each of our products are made with care and attention at our Manchester base that the family call home.

From zesty marmalades to fantastically fruity jams, and perfect peanut butters to classic condiments; the Duerr’s name is a stamp of approval from England’s oldest family-owned preserves producers.

We source our ingredients from the best suppliers which means you’ll only ever get the good stuff in a jar from Duerr’s.

The family has been responsible for many useful creations from the invention of periscopes used in World War One, and bringing to market innovative packaging techniques including the Orbit™ easy-open lid, Europe’s first squeezy jam bottles and even the world’s first bake-stable jam (rhubarb and custard flavour of course!).

Between them they’ve collected records in professional cricket, a degree from Cambridge, an O.B.E. and raised hundreds of thousands for charities close to their hearts; all whilst running a company that has become a jewel in the crown of North West industry. That family spirit lives on and now Fred and Mary’s great great great grandson Richard is at the helm with the sixth generation already making their mark in the Duerr’s dynasty.
