The Partnership

Sheffield Roots.Community Responsibility.

Henry Boot’s partnership with Knife Crime Matters carries a significance that goes beyond a standard business sponsorship. Henry Boot is a Sheffield institution. Founded in the city in 1886, the company has been part of Sheffield’s fabric for nearly 140 years – building homes, developing commercial properties and investing in the communities that make the city what it is.

When KCM unveiled the Harvey Willgoose Mural at Sheffield Meadowhall in 2026 – a permanent, high-impact tribute to a 15-year-old stabbed to death at a Sheffield school – Henry Boot was there. As a business with Sheffield at its heart, supporting a knife crime prevention initiative that directly addresses the safety of young people in the city where they have operated for nearly 140 years is not a PR exercise. It is a natural expression of who they are.

Henry Boot’s CEO Tim Roberts chairs the Sheffield Pride of Place partnership – a cross-sector collaboration between Sheffield’s businesses, educators and community organisations working to create a city where everyone has access to opportunity. Their partnership with KCM sits within that same framework of genuine, evidenced, long-term community commitment.

The Sheffield Connection

Nearly 140 YearsIn One City.

Why this partnership matters in Sheffield

Henry Boot has been part of Sheffield since 1886. Their headquarters are in the Isaacs Building in Sheffield city centre – a building in the Heart of the City development that Henry Boot themselves helped bring to life. Their CEO Tim Roberts chairs the Sheffield Pride of Place partnership, bringing together the city’s businesses, educators and community organisations around a shared vision for Sheffield’s future.

Knife Crime Matters’ most significant community project to date is also in Sheffield – the Harvey Willgoose Mural at Meadowhall, honouring a 15-year-old boy murdered at a Sheffield school in 2025. For Henry Boot, a business that has helped shape Sheffield for nearly 140 years, supporting KCM’s work in the city is personal. It is a commitment to the young people who will grow up in the Sheffield that Henry Boot continues to build.

Henry Boot is a founding member of Sheffield Business Together – a responsible business network that has delivered over £1 million of social value to the city. Their partnership with KCM extends that commitment directly into the area of community safety and knife crime prevention.
